Lucky. Back in my day, local arcades around me were full of bullies who would boot people off of the machines. Being able to play SF2 and MKII at home was a godsend for learning the mechanics.

I don't like playing against Modern controls. I have returned to play SF after 30 years and what low level players do is learn a cheap combo, Drive Impact, and use the ease of Modern controls to perform the combo with complete ease or they spam a special ability at rapid speed without any opportunity to mess up an input. It's not fun nor easy for someone who has been gone for a long time and switched to the Hitbox from console controller to: input specials correctly in-game, hit confirm correctly in-game, mental stack DI and jumping attacks in-game, and then perform combos in-game. At beginning levels, Modern controls gives a decisive advantage over Classic controls. A two button normal into special hit confirm is so easy to do compared to a normal into a special with multiple properly timed inputs. My argument is that it isn't fair for new or like new players who are trying to train with Classic controls and then have to match up against a faster, easier input system. Capcom needs to give the option for ranked matches to be accepted or rejected based on control usage. I typically do well against other Classic controller players because we are in the same boat of working on our input skills while doing the mental stack and spacing, etc...

I'm introverted but I do have extroverted tendencies that I've picked up, especially when I'm around my friends. I bowl in a league and I'm usually going and watching and talking to other people when it's not my turn(I'm a substitute and my league lets subs bowl on whatever team needs a spot that week so I'm not always attached to my team or I just have people I also wanna hang out with). I'll also occasionally make comments with other people in public and stuff and my Daddy was the same way. But I absolutely *WILL NOT* text or call anyone first or rarely order food over the phone. When my job had me working 5 days in a row for like a month straight and my 2 days off were my Yugioh locals and my bowling league I had to just not go to locals some weeks because I was so socially drained. It also didn't help that I was already depressed from a breakup at that point so my mental health was pretty bottomed out. Sorry for the ramble James but just know that I get you. That introvert girlfriend example sounds awesome. And you're awesome too.

It feels very weird that Light Psycho Crusher has slower startup than Heavy Psycho in SF4. Also his Slide Sweep being only on Down Forward while Dhalsim can use Down and Down Forward is not cool. Not what I wanted from M. Bison but I'm glad people are enjoying him.

"I dont want to talk to anybody but I also feel alone" is not the best way to put it, IMO. It sounds contradictory when it is not. I've found it is much better to just say "I want a deeper connection with someone". This is why big groups don't satisfy us at all, why social gatherings leave us tired and sick, and why being alone later feels easier but not better. We WANT human connection, but we want a dedicated, high quality one. And we don't have practice creating this, and many people even frown whenever we try. According to the current social norm, being social is not being intimate, freeminded and openhearted. Powerful, dense conversation is not honest, but uncomfortable. Sharing a trusting silence is not calm, but weird. And that is what we crave: to be able to share a moment, FOR REAL, with someone who gets us. I know this way to see it does not makes things easier, but I think at least makes things more clear. As introverts, we still need to learn how to be alone, how to support and love ourselves, but we also need to practice how to cultivate better, deeper, more meaningful interactions with others. EWGFs are so much easier. But both can be done with enough patience, IMO. Don't give up.

This video made me feel good. I feel a lot better about those days when I'm just like, I just wanna be in my bedroom. I feel like the stigma of not going out much really needs to change. It's okay to not be out and about in crowds.

I definitely think James hit it on the head when he said it’s like you pull all your reserves for the event until you’re so depleted by the time it’s over, that you feel like you have a big crash. Simple, you love what you do and as an introvert you need that recharging time to recover. As a oldhead from the arcade era that's not into the FGC/eSports scene, thank you for all you do for the community man. Hopefully during these down moments know that all you do is appreciated man.

As a long-time depressed introvert, I want to let you know running out of social energy and feeling down is a shared experience. Happens regardless of how positive/negative the social activity was. Unfortunately we gotta roll with the punches. I'll be going to evo for the first time this year and I expect it to be rough after it's over. Still going though. Hope I see you there.

I studied personality psychology for years-in and out of college. Couple of things to point out. 1) introverts have a limited quantity of social energy to expend and when it's exhausted they experience anxiety/ depression. This means they can function normally in social situation up to a point and then they crash like a tweaker at the end of a two day bender. 2) statistically the population is 50% introverted. There are LOTS of introverts out there in general. However certain social groupings select for personality types. For example, managers are more likely to be extroverted and gamers are more likely to be introverted. In my experience, the type of gamers that show up to FGC meetups/tournaments are more extroverted than the gaming population in general, but there are still predominantly introverted compared to the general population. 3) mentally healthy introverts can withstand long periods of time in social situations. So much so that the average observer might mistake them for an extrovert. 4) introversion is not a neurotic disorder. Introversion and extroversion both have advantages and disadvantages. For example introverts are more comfortable being alone. Extroverts experience anxiety/ depression when alone. I know James mentioned he experiences anxiety while being alone after a tournament however this is atypical for an introvert.

I think this is good for people to hear. Its like theres a social battery in us. I love going to the gym but i try to go at odd hours 1am-2am because thats when its most empty

Gems and Pandora system get axed immediately. Adjust the timer so every game doesn't end in a time out.

The only game that Gems should exist is Puzzle Fighter and Puzzle Fighter.

I think capcom should experiment with making sf6 three rounds to win because with this level of damage, it'd give players more time to adjust to the playstyles of their opponent and their characters. It would also make manon much better (we all know she could use a bit of help, but she's a tough one to balance).

playing bison now. Im a bit confused why people are angry with this when ken has +1 on block dragon lash and if it hits it converts into tons of damage and oki and corner carry and the jinrai loop plus low forward getting buffed. akuma does alot of damage too and practically anything he does is a frame trap. he confirms with HK from a mile away and then he gets oki from everything too. i feel like capcom wants to balance the game by making everyone OP tbh. but yeah bisons damage def needs to be tuned down. the scaling looks wrong to me.

personally, so far, i think he's too strong. It's annoying af to fight him. His jabs reach far, are fast, and all his moves seem to be plus on block. He easily steals turns cause all his attacks seem to have no negative frames and his range is crazy. The hit boxes on his attacks seem to activate instantly. So he wins what should be trades. But just turns out to be bison winning by appearing to press jab first. Oh and his throw comes out fast af and has ridiculous range.

Bison looks strong. I saw MDZ Jimmy get Master with him easily in just an hour or two. The funny thing is when I face Bison, and I've faced probably 30+ of them, I steamroll him horribly bad. I don't know how that makes any sense.

If you are a couple frames early you'll get the input buffer window, but dont try to hit the button as soon as the bar turns green because it doesnt work.

Knee press should definitely be gated behind a charge, idk what they were thinking. Move is designed to be a charge, now you can walk forward and throw it out and the only downside is that it’s literally 1 or 2 frames more negative on block than usual

People keep jumping with bombs on them and mashing my scissor kicks so I keep climbing the ranked ladder 😂

But if a bomb is planted and you hold down and back to block when it detonates from its timeout I don’t think you lose any life. Maybe a little bit of gauge but that’s it.

With pandora, I think they wanted to create hype moments for epic comebacks and it's really there to push out the social marketability of the game "look at this crazy comeback" or if you're watching a tournament live it's a moment. And it's not there because it's good, it's because they wanted to push the eSports hype moment to moment. Same with gems, what's going to happen!? Moment to moment, just have something happen that could be exciting. But I think the Tekken cast had some really interesting movesets and I'd like them to return in some form in the future.

Why are you feeding these gremlins? The character has not been out for a week. You wanna speculate about his strength go for it but maybe wait until counterplay develops? These things take time. I would expect this sensationalism from a zoomer not from the old guard.
